Adrian S., Portable Devices Programming
Adrian has over 10 years in the software engineering field.
During his career he focused on implementing real-time solutions for the
financial industry. In the first years Adrian worked part of a
development team that delivered a complete trading platform (C++/Sun
Solaris) for the Swiss Stock Exchange. Then he took over some projects
for RBC Dominion Securities where he worked on various order routing and
reporting tools. This is also the time when he embraced Java as an
alternative to C++.
Since 2000 Adrian has approached J2EE and Sun's iPlanet
application server by successfully pioneering a project for Etrade
Canada. His experience covers a wide spectrum of requirements derived
from using an iPlanet J2EE solution: iPlanet administration
(installation, clustering, fault-tolerance), application development and
deployment, RMI-IIOP integration, JNI interfacing to legacy systems.
As a freelance consultant, Adrian has developed various
e-commerce web sites integrated with PayPal (Servlets and JSPs , running
on Apache web server and accessing a MySQL database).
Recently, his
interest is growing towards developing some user friendly PocketPC
applications that would perform equally well also on a desktop PC or
laptop. Currently he is working on a warehouse inventory application
which exports some reports to Excel files and runs on a HP iPaq H5555
using Windows CE and Jeode JVM.
