ThanksTHE THEME FOR this CD is LOVE...
That very special element has existed within us since the beginning of time. Love and music go wonderfully together and is so important to us all young and old. It feeds our soul, makes us better people, awakens our emotions, and more.
The repertoire that I have chosen for this CD is a combination of my original compositions, along with some of the world's famou composers: Jerome Kern / Hoagy Carmichael / Burton Lave / Victore Young / Johnny Mercer / Alan Jay Lerner / Ned Washington / Alan and Marilyn Bergman. I've also included songs by my two favorite contemporary composers and arrangers; Johnny Mandel and Michel Legrand, both unique in their own special way for their exquisite and ingenious musicianship.
I've surrounded myself with wonderful musicians who are long time friends of mine and have been so greatly supportive to me. With all my love to paul Hoffert, Bernie Senenski, Dave Field, Ron Rully, Hack Long, Michael Stuart, Robert Rully, Reese Brunelle and James Rohr.
Thank you for being so attentive to all of my musical whims. I'm extremely grateful and love you all. We had lots of fun.
My love to Brenda Hoffert for being so sweet and supportive, and thanks with love to Bill Bridges my old friend, colleague, and musical secretary. Thanks to Jack Long, a veteran in the Canadian music industry (Long & McQuade Musical Instruments) for his support and contribution to this album.
Special thanks to my drummer Ron Rully who's been with me for the past 26 years and the father of my son Elia the pride of my life. Ron's uninterrupted love has given me strength and endurance through-out good and bad times. He feels music the same way I do. I love you Ron.
